Build your seserahan list

The Seserahan menu records the gift items, their prices, and the budget target, split by the giving family. Items are grouped by category (for example Skincare or Jewelry).

Pick the giving family

At the top of the page there are two tabs: From the groom's family and From the bride's family, each with its category count. Your choice is saved in the URL (?side=), so a reload doesn't switch tabs. The tab order follows the wedding's adat: for Minang adat, the bride's family tab comes first. Category page addresses also include the side, for example /wp/seserahan/wanita/....

Each side's summary shows Categories, Items, and Budget for this side along with how much is spent.

Set a budget target

Open the ⋯ menu, choose Set target for the side you're viewing, fill in Target budget, and click Save target. Enter 0 if you don't know yet. Targets are worked out separately for each side.

Add categories and items

  1. Click Add category, enter a name, then Add category. The category goes into the side that's currently open.
  2. Open its card and click Add item.
  3. Fill in Item name, Unit price, Qty, Bought on, and Notes. Unit price (above Rp0), Qty (at least 1), and Bought on are required, unlike Budget and Vendor. Total price is worked out automatically. Click Add item.

Required fields show a message below them, for example "Required." or "At least 1, whole number." Names are limited to 255 characters. The item isn't saved until everything is valid.

The category page shows Items, Pieces, and Total along with the percentage of that side's target. Search for items, sort by purchase date or price, and edit or delete with the icons on the row.

On the category page there is a Search item name or note box and a Sort by choice: Newest purchase, Oldest purchase, Highest price, or Lowest price. The table has the columns Item, Unit price, Qty, Total, Bought on, and Actions. On a phone, each item shows as a card. The list is paged, and Rows per page can be set to 5, 10, or 20.

If you see Category not found, the category may have been deleted, or the link points to the other giving family. Click Back to Seserahan.

Adat-based quantity suggestions

Some adat have customary quantities for seserahan, and Abadikan shows them as suggestions, not rules:

  • Chinese-Indonesian: the quantity is usually even, and the number 4 is avoided.
  • Javanese, Malay, and Malaysian Malay: the quantity is usually odd.

If the Qty doesn't match, a gentle note appears with a Make it button for the suggested number. Just ignore it if your family has agreed on something else. Pick the adat in Religion & adat.
