Start Planner with the 5-step Wizard

The "Start planning your wedding" Wizard appears the first time you open the Planner product and your account doesn't have a wedding yet, or when you choose Start a new wedding in the wedding picker. It has five short steps: Basics, Religion & adat, Event details, Invite team, and Payment. You can change every answer later in Settings & team.

Before you start

  • To add another wedding, open the Your weddings picker in the app bar (on a phone, at the top of Menu) and click Start a new wedding. The Wizard title becomes "Start a new wedding" and a Cancel button takes you back to Home.
  • The step number is at the top (Step 2 of 5 · Religion & adat). Move between steps with Next and Back; your browser's Back button also goes back one step.
  • Steps 2 to 5 only open once both partners' names are filled in. If they aren't, you're sent back to step 1 with "Fill in the groom's name." or "Fill in the bride's name."
  • Your answers are saved in the browser, so if the page reloads you pick up from the last step.

Step 2: Religion & adat

Your choices here are used to fill To-do, Rundown, Budget, Vendors, and Paperwork automatically once payment is complete. The full explanation is in Pick religion & adat.

  1. Pick the Ceremony religion: one for this wedding, matching the ceremony you hold.
  2. Pick the Groom's family adat and Bride's family adat. They can be the same, different, or National/modern if you don't follow an adat.
  3. Check the Processions list below. The required and common ones are already ticked; untick what you won't hold, and tick the optional ones if you like.

Not sure yet? Click Skip, I'll fill it in myself. You can pick them any time in Settings & team, on the Religion & customs tab.

Step 3: Event details

Every field can be left empty; tick Not sure yet for anything undecided, and that field can then no longer be edited.

Step 4: Invite team

You're automatically the Owner with "Full access to every Planner menu". You can skip this step and invite your team later in Settings & team.

  1. Click Invite a member.
  2. In the Invite a member dialog, fill in Name, Email, and WhatsApp (optional), then pick a Role: Groom, Bride, Wedding planner, or Other.
  3. Under Can open, tick the menus this member may open, or choose All menus. The ticks are filled in from the role and you can still change them.
  4. Click Invite. The member appears in the list; click the remove icon to take them off the list.

Invitations are sent by email after the wedding is created. The guide for invited members is in Sign in as a team member.

Step 5: Payment

  1. Check the Order summary: the Planner for the couple, its price, and what the package includes. The price comes from the server and may show a crossed-out price with an On sale label; with no discount, the label is One-time payment.
  2. Enter a Referral code if you have one (optional).
  3. Check Price, Discount, and Total. Payment fees, if any, are shown on the payment page.
  4. Click Place order.

After that the wedding is saved right away. If there's an invoice, you go to the payment page (or to the payment gateway's page if the invoice uses a gateway link); continue in Pay and unlock Planner. If there's no invoice, the Planner home opens straight away. Once it's paid and you've picked a religion or adat, you move on to Set up your Planner.
